Salwa's play U-Haul Mesbians was a semi-finalist in the Eugene O'Neill National Musical Theatre Conference.
Salwa's play Word Play had a reading in the Once and Future Festival in Chicago.
Salwa’s feature screenplay, The Strangest Part of the Forest, had a reading on January 20th in Chicago. The script is Salwa’s thesis for her MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage at Northwestern University.
In this animated feature for children, twins Juniper and Clementine are drawn into a magical forest that only gets stranger the deeper they go in. They travel alongside Alder, a tree-boy, and Beet, a giant beetle, to rescue their sister Rosemary and return home braver and better equipped to handle the huge, unnameable feelings we all experience.

Salwa is currently an MFA candidate in Writing for the Screen and Stage at Northwestern University. She will graduate in June.
